There are five difficulty levels available for each map. Lastly, content creators are able to make their own custom modes, such as Gun Game or Vehicle Mod.

However, these two modes can be furthered refined by using Sandbox Mode or Mutators.Īdditionally, if you own the free Toy Master addon, you have access to a third mode simply called Toy Master. The original Killing Floor only has two modes by default: Killing Floor (also known as Survival) and Objective Mode. The money system is the same as it is in 2.5 and later versions, but there is no way to give teammates money. The original KFMod had only Survival Mode for most of it's lifespan, but the very original 1.0 release also featured a short Story Mode. The money system was revamped in Killing Floor 2.0 to use an actual currency instead of normal points. Everyone that survives a wave will be given a five point bonus. The weakest enemies, such as the Clot, give one point, while the Fleshpound, the strongest enemy in the game, gives 5 points when killed. It is represented as points instead of pounds. Money is very different in Killing Floor 1.0. The game will randomly spawn in some money where ammo would usually appear.

Money is obtained by killing specimens, healing teammates with the Med-Syringe, on the ground a random pickup, in a money room, by selling weapons, or by being given it.Įveryone that's survived the end of a wave will earn some extra money.

This can be adjusted in the game's options. By default, 50 pounds are dropped as a physical item. Money can be dropped by hitting the B key. Without money, you can't buy anything from the Trader, which makes fighting off the specimens much harder, if not impossible in later waves. Money is the most important item in the game.
